Michael and I were inseparable for a long time. But he, sadly and gradually, lost himself. He'd visit me from Somerville when we lived in Allston. He'd get on the bus to go home as I'd watch from a distance. He looked so alone. He drowned himself in a bath at Marlboro State Mental Hospital. (In the photo he is way younger than when I knew him. The kid who seemed happy as a boy who later, like Rimbaud to some extent, wrote pages and pages of poetry which he burned.)
