Yeah, so 80’s. My YOU ARE NOT DAVID BOWIE vocal, and GBand derivative drum sample, puts this in an odd category, but I still like the damn song.

Driving home from work the other day, I saw this dude on the sidewalk, head bent, a slip of a smile, as if remembering a dear friend or lover, an in-joke with himself, who I glimpsed from my car in heavy traffic.

The simplicity of any tiny event that brightens my day always strikes me like a surprise party, especially when dark clouds impinge on my equilibrium.

True enough, it was a dude, like I said, but I’ve written a ton of boy admiration/portrait songs lately so made my protagonist a girl. She may not have been there on that particular day, but I know I’ve seen her with a similar interior joi de vivre.
