My friend, Jeff Mason, (who I haven't seen for years) told me about running into a chick in a bar who thought he was an artist. 'What kind of art do you do?' she asked. 'I work in drunken converstation' he said. 'She was impressed,' he told me. I always thought that without songwriting life for me would be rough. I worry about those who have no 'safe' place to put their deepest and darkest.
