lyrics

BASEBALL PARK

suckin on a daydream popsicle stick
sticky in my hand
get rid of it quick
blue sky darkens n the big drops fall
like middle eastern bullets
makin blood marks on a wall
+ a temporary lover write a chocolate poem on a
lampshade silouette
watch her shoulders shake like the prettiest girl
in that Mexican movie roadtrip
crying + cuming at the same time,
you wonder
what’s it gonna be tonight?

I really want t know you

helium voices crack a window pane
+ a Star Wars kid s cuttin lines o cocaine
fire up a baby carriage throw it off the roof
it's rainin out but you dont care yr heart is bullet proof
you see what I see yes I think you do
but ya never can be sure
cuz it’s hot t be cool
at least yr feelin something
like a baseball park on the tip of yr finger

I really want t know you I really wanna see you tonight
will ya mess me up ...real good?

yr heart in my hand like a kick drum in a band
ricochet down a wire like a walkie talkie tin can
I think Im getting stupider
like a disco boy on a brand new drug

I really want t know you I really wanna see you tonight

you see what I see yes I think you do
but ya never can be sure
cuz it’s hot t be cool
at least yr feelin something
like a baseball park on the tip of yr finger

I really want to know you
I really want to see ya tonight

THE SHELLEY WINTERS PROJECT went into WOOLLY MAMMOTH SOUND (The weeping behemoth has folded her tent. The catacomb rehearsal/label/studio so many have slogged away in for years is being torn to bits to make room for - you guessed it - condERminiums.) Anyhow SWP slid in there one long night and recorded 17 songs live. (Sir David Minehan crawled all over the place - ass in air - to get things right.) Overdubbed vocals and one or two bits of guitar, violin. Mixed when we could. In many ways it's SHELLEY's truest record. No other instruments or players took part save those last remaining: Meredith Cooper - violin. Jeff Muzerolle - drums. Noah Scanlan - bass. David Berndt - guitar. Berlin - Berlin. Realize it's been said before, but as far as this old lady's concerned, SHELLEY is her LAST BAND EVER. Will miss Mr. Minehan with all my heart. Less some big idea with big bucks wades into my life.
